Tufflux

The car that tested it all.

Before there was a Tufflux turbo kit, there was Tufflux — our own 3RZ-powered Hilux that we used to develop, test and refine the parts that eventually became the Tufflux kit.

Rather than simply putting together a collection of off-the-shelf turbo components, we wanted to develop a package that actually worked on the 3RZ.

That meant fitting the parts, testing them, finding what needed changing, and doing it again until we had a combination we were happy with.

Developed on a Real 3RZ

Tufflux became our test bed for developing the turbo system and the supporting components around it.

The manifold, turbo setup, cross over and later intercooling, intake and supporting hardware were all developed with the 3RZ-FE in mind.

The result is a turbo kit designed around the things we've learned from actually building and running a turbo 3RZ — not just a collection of parts that happen to fit.

From Tufflux to Tuna Racing

What started as a project car eventually became the foundation for one of Tuna Racing's most complete 3RZ turbo packages.

The lessons learned from Tufflux went directly into the parts we now offer, helping us create a kit that's straightforward to install and gives 3RZ owners a proven starting point for their own turbo builds.

And the development hasn't stopped.

Our 3RZ builds continue to be used to test and develop new products, with everything we learn feeding back into the Tuna Racing range.

It started with a Hilux.

We built Tufflux because we wanted to see what was possible with a budget 3RZ.

Then we turned what we learned into parts that other 3RZ owners could use.
